Frosthaven Digital: release date, platforms and price

What you actually get

The digital version is the Frosthaven campaign — the outpost, the calendar, the attacks on the town, the retirement loop — rebuilt by Snapshot Games for a screen. You start with six classes: Banner Spear, Boneshaper, Drifter, Geminate, Blinkblade and Deathwalker. The rest unlock through the campaign the same way they do on the table.

It plays single-player or in online co-op, and the store page promises difficulty settings aimed at people who never played the board game. The housekeeping is where the time goes: no stat sleeves to stack, no loot deck to shuffle by hand, no arithmetic between rounds.

Windows only, for now

On 20 October 2026 the Steam page lists Windows and nothing else. No Mac build, no Linux build, no PS5 or Xbox listing. Every search for “frosthaven digital mac” or “frosthaven ps5” currently lands on a store page that cannot help, which is why this section exists.

If that changes, the store page will say so first. Snapshots of the store data are what this page is built from, not rumours.

Board game or digital?

Buy the digital version if you want the campaign without the table logistics, or if your group is spread across time zones. Buy the board game if the tactical puzzle with physical cards is the point for you — the digital version is the same puzzle with the fiddly parts automated, and eventually the two can drift as the digital build gets patched.

Worth knowing before you start either: retiring a character is how the campaign moves forward, and the outpost phase is half the game. The outpost attack calculator is the one we built first for exactly that reason.

The numbers that still need working out

Automation does not remove the maths. Enhancement prices, scenario levels, XP thresholds and outpost defense checks are all still rulebook arithmetic, and the enhancement, scenario level and XP calculators do that work for the board game numbers the digital version follows.

Questions

Is Frosthaven Digital on Mac?

Not as of October 2026. The Steam page lists Windows only, with no Mac or Linux build. Running it through a Windows translation layer is the only way on a Mac today.

Is there a PS5 or Xbox version of Frosthaven?

No console version is listed. The game is sold on Steam for Windows, and neither Snapshot Games nor Arc Games has a console release on the store page.

How much does Frosthaven Digital cost?

$27.99 on Steam. That is the full game, not a demo or an episode, and it is cheaper than the board game's retail price.

Do these calculators work for the digital version?

The enhancement, scenario level, XP and outpost calculators follow the board game's rulebook, and the digital version is built on the same systems. Patches can change a number, so if the game disagrees with a calculator, the game is right for the digital campaign.
