What does morale do in Frosthaven?

Morale shifts Frosthaven's defense value, can be spent instead of resources to repair or build, and gates some event outcomes.

Morale runs from 0 to 20 on the campaign sheet, and the defense value moves with it. Only the modifier printed next to your current morale applies — the modifiers are not cumulative.

It is also a currency. The party can spend 1 morale to repair a building instead of paying resources, or 2 morale to do one extra build or upgrade in an outpost phase.

Events are the third use: some outcomes have a morale requirement, so a high track opens options that a low one closes. Reaching 0 or 20 can also send you to a section of the section book.

“Frosthaven's total defense is affected by the modifier indicated next to the current morale. … Modifiers from the morale track are not cumulative; only the current modifier is applicable.”
